Let's Talk About Food
Monday 7 March 2016
One thing I love to do is cooking or baking. Just creating with food really. There was a time when I wanted to be a cook in a restaurant. But I'm not really cut out for that fast-paced lifestyle. I'm more suited for cooking at my own pace in my own kitchen.
I've recently discovered a new channel. Food Network. I hadn't watched normal TV in a really long time. Then I spent the weekend with my Dad at the shack and he was watching. Well, it's safe to say it's my new love. I put it on in the morning and watch until after lunch. By then I have gotten great inspiration for lunch (I'm watching it while writing this). On Saturday, I made bacon and eggs. Now that probably sounds plain and boring but I revamped it a bit and it was just divine. I started with a slice of crusty bread which I lighted toasted in the same frying pan I cooked the bacon in so it had bacon juices. Then Bacon topped with some scrambled eggs with cream instead of milk and fried tomato and cheese. Last but not least a drizzled of preferred sauce and a sprinkling of grated cheese. Delicious.
It doesn't always take a lot for me to be inspired by food. Which is wonderful because it means I can just get up and create.
I always in the mood to bake cupcakes or just normal cakes and most of the time I have a craving to eat them but usually I just really want to make them and decorate.
I'm a very creative favourite person so I love to create different things with my food. Having moved out of my parents house has really freed up the kitchen and made it easier for me to be creative. I remember years ago cracking eggs into a bowl and wanted to make someone new and exciting with them, unfortunately, I didn't have any idea then my Mum walked in and helped me cook an omelette. It was my first omelette and to this day, I still make them, although they never turn out the same.
Basically, I love food and cooking and creating fun new things to try in the kitchen. Have a wonderful day.
Bye!!
