New Year, New Me?
My Year In Review
Friday 27 December 2019
I feel like that I write a blog post or post a video on youtube every 6 to 10 months and promise to keep up to a specific schedule and I do for a while, but then life gets busy, I forgot, and it just falls behind. This time around I have no promises to keep up a schedule. If I post I post, if I don't I don't.
We are coming to the end of the year, and I've got big plans for 2020 but for now here is a bit of a recap for the year 2019.
I started off the year with an almost 9 months old baby boy named Erik. He is beautiful and full of fun. He is now 20 months old and running around like a bunny on fire, (that's a weird saying), he gets into all the trouble he can especially now that we have a puppy, whom we only got at the end of November. Her name is Tessa and she is a Staffy cross German Shepard.
We are getting out of order back to the beginning of February when I decided that I was going to do a TAFE course so I could get a job. Now being a new Mum I didn't want to do a job that meant I would have to spend time away from my baby. So I decided to do Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care. Which meant that I could work and look after my son at the same time, and other peoples children as well. Fast forward to the middle of December, here I am qualified.
During the year and the course, I had to do a placement, at a childcare centre. So, I went to the centre that my Mum works at. Erik also started attending the centre as Michael my partner works and we needed someone to look after him. After my first round of placement with the older children at the centre, I handed in my resume and they offered me a job. Even though I hadn't finished my course I had already gotten a job out of it. I was so very excited and still am I love my job. I've now been working for 5 months.
Now, what else have I done this year? It's hard to remember, I spend a lot of time at my computer working on assessments working towards my qualification. Erik had his first birthday earlier in the year and I also had a birthday, I love birthdays.
Christmas was on Wednesday and I love Christmas just as much as I love Birthdays. I got some great gifts for the people I love and I received some excellent presents. I've noticed that on the internet some people don't like to talk about the presents that they have received as it seems like they are bragging, I enjoy when people talk about what they got, as I am a nosey person and I want to see what other people get them and what they enjoy themselves.
One of my presents I received this year were a new keyboard for my computer, which is just beautiful, all the keys light up and it's a mechanical keyboard so when you press the keys it makes a really lovely sound. I had planned on getting this keyboard myself as it goes with my mouse and headphones that I had previously had, but I hadn't got around to it yet. Now the lights on my mouse, headphones and keyboard all sync up with each other and it's beautiful.
I also got the most beautiful watermelon print salad bowl with matching salad servers and an even more beautiful watermelon serving platter.
I was shopping with my Mum one day and I saw the most beautiful looking cookbook that I had ever seen. It is called "Beautiful Boards" by Maegan Brown. It is exactly what the title says, it is full of beautiful boards full of food. I'll include some pictures. I don't know if I will ever make boards as beautiful as the ones in the book or ever ones exactly the same but it will be great inspiration for future gatherings that we have. Maybe next Christmas I can make some of my own beautiful boards.
Last present I am going to the tell you about is the hair curler I got, which I tested out today, I have not had much experience with hair curling, I think I need to watch some videos about it as I burnt the side of my forehead and my finger, which now has a blister on it. You would think after having straightened my hair and other peoples hair many, many times over the years I would know how NOT to burn myself, silly me.
These are just a few of my presents I got this year and I am very lucky for all of the presents I received.
I hope you all had a wonderful year and a magical Christmas and gifted some love and received some great things. I also hope that your year to come is full of all things great5 and that new experience come your way!
Sincerely Lily May
