Top 10 Book To Movie

Top 10 Book To Movie Adaptation

Wednesday 20th July 2016

This weeks top 10 are going to be books that have been made into movies. Now not all of these books I knew about before the movie came out, and some I did know about before the movie. Then there is that odd one where I knew about the movie before the book. There may also be a TV series thrown in. Let's go!!

10. Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
This is the book series that started me reading. I read Dogs Days first and it was wonderful. They are a novel but they include a lot of comic type pictures and it really encouraged me to start reading. It used to take me a couple days to read them but now it only takes about half a day. I just love them. I also really enjoy the movies they have proper people and include some animated drawings which are really fun.

9. The Fault In our Stars.
I knew what was going to happen at the end of the book before I read it but it still made me cry when I read it. Then when I watched the movie with Weirdo I cried again. It's safe to say I'm either really invested in the characters or I'm a big cry baby. Oh well. I really enjoyed both the book and the movie and I think they did a really good job. Good 'ol John Green.

8. Twilight.
I know a lot of people are not big fans of Twilight, but I actually like it. I'm a big fan of Vampires and Werewolves and anything supernatural. I had planned to never watch any of the movies just because everyone was going on about them so very much. But I stayed at my Auntys and she insisted I watch it. But I watched the second one first and then the first one second. I was completely confused. But after watching all of the movies a few months later I really had an erge to watch the movies again, all one after the other, as you do. But I decided to use this erge and read the books instead. I got all the way through the first three then my erge ran away and I left it at that for now. One day.

7. Interview With The Vampire.
I do like me some vampires. I watched Interview with the Vampire quite a while ago and I was a little confused at the beginning but I picked up on it quickly. I really like the way they did the flash back and forward thing. I have also started reading thw book, it's rather long and there are a lot of words from the good old days to get through.
6. The Mortal Instruments.
I read the Infernal Devices before the Mortal Instruments and I fell in love with Tessa and Jem and Will. After all, that love I decided to read the Mortal Instruments and I love all the characters in that too. I love that Clary has red hair, I love the mystery (all though I did know a lot of spoilers beforehand). The movie wasn't amazing but I did love it non-the-less. I do like the idea of a TV Series as there is room for a lot more information than in a movie. I haven't seen the new TV series but I'm looking forward to it.
5. The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
I picked up the book and movie and I read the whole book then immediately watched the movie. I think they did a rather good job with the movie. There is one part which actually made me laugh so loud which wasn't actually in the movie and disappointed me a little but it's still a wonderful movie.

4. Love, Rosie.
I brought the book and movie at the exact same time and I planned to read the whole book before watching the movie. But something that really, really annoyed me happened half way through the book and I couldn't handle the wait, so I watched it. I was satisfied afterwards but unfortunately, I haven't finished the book yet, but I will!

3. Percy Jackson.
There are some people that do not like the Percy Jackson movies as they are a little confusing. The first movie has some bits missing that are important then they are fixed in the second movie. When I read the first four books, I did it one after the other and they are all smooshed together in my brain now. My favourite line from the second movie is my Luke (I think that is right, it's been a while). Percy has just got on his boat and he goes, "Don't walk on my boat." I laugh every time, it's the greatest.

2. Vampire Academy.
I remember reading the first part of the fourth (one I think it was), a few years ago. It was a spoiler I realised last year when I read the first book. Personally, I love the movies and I think they did a wonderful job, I also really enjoy the books, even though I have only read about three of them.

1. Vampire Diaries.
My friend Tree (yep that's a suitable name) introduced me to the Vampire Diaries quite a few years ago and I loved it. I loved it then and I love it now. I have read about a handful of the books, some in order, some not. They are so many series amongst the main series. There are a lot of books to get through and when we went on holiday to Orange (in New South Wales) a few years ago I took about eight with me and I read them all. I've read them out of order and missed some. But I love them.
