-Something creative and witty-

Do you ever get writers block??
I'm not sure if I get writers block as such but, sometimes I just dont feel like writing. And other times I just can't stop. Is that what writers block is?? Hang on I'll google it.

According to Google:

"Writer's block is a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work or experiences a creative slowdown. The condition ranges in difficulty from coming up with original ideas to being unable to produce a work for years."

That's interesting. Writers block isnt just something authors get, school students get it too when working on an assignment, or when they have to produce a original written story for class.
Sometimes when you can't think of anything to write you need some sort of inspiration or an idea to get your brain working. I'll admit when I started this post my heading was the word 'Heading'. Quite original. Then I let my fingers do the talking and here we are. A post about writers block and writing.
I have found though, if you leave your bedroom, or study, or location where you are writing and go outside for a walk or head to the supermarket, or a cafe for a hot chocolate. You can get inspiration from people and places. You hear a snippet of a conversation that sounds like it would be a good conversation?? Write it down. See a cute little shop that you like?? Write it down. You never know it might come in handy. See someones name on their name tag with an interesting spelling?? Write it down.
I carry a little note book around with me for just such an occasion. You never know when you might get inspiration. And if I dont have my little note book with me I use my phone. Most phones have a notepad section for writing things in.
I've also had those moments when I've thought of something and didnt have my book or phone with me and though, 'yeah I'll remember this for later'. No. No, you wont. You'l spend ages trying to rememer but giving up cause its done never to return again.
Keeping a book and pen or a piece of paper by your bed is good too. At night when you are trying to sleep is when a lot of ideas bloosm into life but are always fotgotten by morning. Waking up in the middle of the night with a great idea or an interesting dream you had, writing it down will not only make sure you have a copy of it but will also help you remember.

One night a couple weeks ago I got a great idea for a post while in bed and I had it all planned out. By morning it was all gone except for the title and that wasnt at all hepful to help me remember.

Long post, short. Carry a book and pen around with you or something you can jot notes down in. Go out and explore, everyday is new and different and just full of potential. So get out there and soak it up!!

As Fannery O'Connor once said;
'Nothing needs to happen in a writers life after they are 20.
By then they've experienced more than enough
to last their entire creative life.'
