Moving Out Top Tips!!

Moving Out, My Top Tips!!

Monday 19 October 2015

Today I'm going to share with you, my top tips for when moving out of your parents house.

Tip 1.
Don't buy everything all at once. When you move our of your parents place, all you had was a room full of stuff. Mostly clothes, makeup, stuffed animals from when you were younger (or last week when you were shopping). Your new flat or house or apartment or cupboard. (let's be realistic we can't always afford something roomy). Is going to need a lot of new things. Once a week leading up to the big move, buy one item you will need. That way you aren't forking out lots of money at once.

Tip 2.
I remember the weeks leading up to us moving out. We were getting things from everyone. Your first place doesn't have to be filled with brand new things, you can find great sets of plates and bowls from the op shop that are much cheaper. We have two sets of plates. A small, 4 side plates, bowls and dinner plates that we use regularly. Then we have a larger dinner set that is used when we have guests.

Tip 3.
Don't go shopping when you are hungry.
It can seriously affect what you buy. Instead, before you leave the house write a list of everything you need. That way you don't forget anything and you (hopefully) won't put a huge dent in your bank account.

Tip 4.
Revamping.
I don't mean finding a vampire and giving them a makeover. I mean fixing up furniture. We were given a TV cabinet and a coffee table that was covered in that weird brown laminate. So can, of paint and some stick-on floor tiles later, you can't even tell it was the same ones.

Tip 5.
You don't need everything.
When you were growing up you collected a tin full of leaves that are now either broken down into crumbs or have gone moldy. That collection could probably go in the bin. Your collection of cushions scattered all over your bed can definitely go with you.

Tip 6.
Budget.
Once a week or fortnight (whenever you get paid) have a plan worked out for your money. Say $10 goes towards power, and $10 goes into petrol, another $50 for food shopping. So on and so forth. It's much easier to have it all worked out where your money is going to go instead of winding it every week. Plus if you keep on top of your bills at the end of the month it won't be a huge amount.

Tip 7.
Make sure who you moved out with is who you want to spend a lot of time together. When you live with people you seem them a lot and I mean a lot. Before they shower, after they shower, while they're eating, when they've fallen asleep on the lounge while eating Doritos, while they're picking their nose. Some are worse than others. But they will all happen at some point or another.

That's my top tip's for moving out of home. I moved out a couple month's ago and I thought I would share some tips with you I learnt along the way. Have a great day and a wonderful week!!

Also a reminder, there will be a Sims 4 episode up on my youtube channel tomorrow, if you're interested. Bye!!
