Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea

Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea

Monday 1st August 2016

Yesterday, (Sunday 31st July) My Aunty Invited me to join her at a Mad Hatter Tea Party held by the CWA to raise money. It cost $8 for a donation ticket. As it is a Mad Hatter theme everyone is invited to wear a Mad Hatter themed hat. So on Saturday (30th July) my Aunty and I revamped two of her hats for the afternoon tea.

She had a thought of doing a very Australian type hat with all the corks hanging around the brim to keep flies away from your faceBut with a twist. If you are unsure what I'm on about I'll insert a picture below along with the finished product. So we both picked out a hat, (my Aunty has quite a few) and instead of hanging corks around the brim of our hats we hung little rabbits, and a girl that represents Alice and we also got a tea cup and saucer and a kettle, because it is a tea party.

While at the afternoon tea we were asked some Alice In Wonderland themed questions. As a child, I watched Alice In Wonderland frequently, so I knew all of the questions. Out of 20 questions, I was the first to answer 6 of them. Although, a few of them were based on the original storybook. My prize for answering the questions was a small chocolate bar for each correct answer.

There was a vote on who had the best hat. My Aunty came second and got a beautiful rug, I came third. ^_^

This is an overview of my hat I decorated.
This is my Aunties hat she decorated.
