Adventure: Melrose
Melrose
Saturday 26 September 2015
On Thursday, I went for a drive to Melrose with my Dad. I've been many times and will more than likely go many more times. But, this time I decided it would make a good blog post. So here I am, blogging about it!!
Melrose is about an hour from where I live by car and there is, a couple of different routes you can take. My dad, being the bushy that he is, of course, took the scenic route.
I've been on this route many times before. I've been on all the routes many times before. But the scenic route is my favourite. Because well, it's the scenic route. It's all tree's, bushes, flower's, animal's and cute farmhouses.
If you've never been to Melrose or don't live in South Australia. Melrose is a small town in amongst the hills known as the Flinders Ranges. Nothing is level over there. The roads curve and house all need to be level and are generally build above the ground. It's great for skateboards and pushbikes!
Next up was the Gorge. I think every time I go through the Gorge, I take pictures. It looks different every time. It depends on the season and what time of day it is, but it's always beautiful. I love it because it has twists and turns and my dad always go fast. Well as fast as safely possibly, and sticking to the speed limits).
When we got to Melrose and our friends place where we were staying, the sun was setting and it was just great. I didn't get a chance to take pictures but the next morning I did. Bright and early (7 am!!)
I didn't have to go far either. Just out to the front door and there was a gorgeous view of some of the hills.
If you've never seen sheep, kangaroos, or farm animals. Melrose is a great place to go. There are sheep living in the front yard of some people's houses. And that's just in the town. Outside the town is farmhouse after farmhouse. With large land spaces between for all of their cattle or any other animal they might have. Pig's, cows anything!
There is always something new and exciting around every corner.
I had a great trip up to Melrose and will most definitely go again in the future. It's inevitable. Until next time, safe travels!!
