18 Sleeps To Go!!
Over the weekend, I went to two Christmas pageants. It was very exciting. But also very hot. The first one I went to was Port Augusta's on Friday night. It started at 6:30 pm and I have to say, I wasn't that impressed. There were about 10 floats with large gaps in between them. So you had to stand out in the heat while you waited for the next one to come along. It went around twice and still only took up about 25 minutes of time. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed but I'm glad I went as I can officially say I have been to the Port Augusta Christmas pageant.
After the pageant, however, they did have some stalls set up in the local park just down the road, selling hot donuts, sausage's with onion, fairy floss (which I did indulge in), some rides and entertainment for the kids. And of course, there on the pavilion was a seat especially set up for Father Christmas for all the children to have a sit on his lap and a photo. So sweet.
When we were finished at the park we headed around the corner and down the road a little to a Chinese restaurant (whose name I can not remember) for some tea.

Last but not least was Port Pirie's Christmas pageant. It was during the day about 11:30 am and I must say golly gosh was it hot. Apart from arriving a couple minutes late, it was pretty enjoyable. Pirie had a few more floats than Port Augusta (by a few I mean at least double) most were the same as previous years that I've seen before but they add to the fun. My cousin was also in the pageant so that's exciting as was my Aunty.
There is something about a Christmas pageant that just gets you into the Christmas spirit (even if it is a hundred degrees outside) and remind you the magical innocence of being a child. For me it might be because I have been going since I can remember.
*sigh*
It's just so magical and I love it.
Do you have Christmas pageants where you live?? If you do what are they like?? Let me know in the comments I would love to hear about them.
